Donald E. Clow FCA
President and Chief Executive Officer

Donald E. Clow FCA was appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer on August 6, 2009. Prior to joining Crombie, Mr. Clow held the position of President, ECL Developments Limited, the real estate development subsidiary of Empire Company Limited. Previous to Empire; he held various executive positions with Southwest Properties Group of Companies in Halifax evolving to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer, a position he held for seven years. Mr. Clow graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and earned his CA designation with KPMG. In addition to leadership programs at the Harvard Business School and the University of Western Ontario Ivey School of Business, he was designated a Fellow Chartered Accountant in 2002.


 

 

Frank C. Sobey
Chairman

Frank Sobey has been a director of ECL and its predecessors since 1981 and Chairman since 1998. Mr. Sobey is a director and member of the oversight committee of Sobeys and a trustee and member of the audit committee of Wajax Income Fund. He is also Chairman of the Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation and a member of the advisory board for the Fred C. Manning School of Business Administration at Acadia University.

 

 

Glenn R. Hynes, C.A.
Chief Financial Officer and Secretary

Glenn R. Hynes, C.A. was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Secretary on June 28, 2010. Prior to joining Crombie, Mr. Hynes held the position of Chief Financial Officer and Partner of Bluewave Energy LP; a national fuel distribution business. From 1996 to 2006, he held several executive positions with Sobeys Inc. (TSX:SBY) including Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (2001 – 2005) and Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer (2005 - 2006).

Mr. Hynes is a graduate of the University of Prince Edward Island with a Bachelor of Business Administration and earned his C.A. designation with Coopers & Lybrand. His present professional affiliations include incoming Chair (2011) of the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council (APEC) and Executive Committee member and Finance & Audit Committee Chair of the University of Prince Edward Island.

He received the UPEI Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2002 and Canada's Top 40 Under 40 Award in 2000.


 

 

Patrick G. Martin
Regional Vice-President, Atlantic Canada

Prior to Mr. Martin's appointment with Crombie REIT in October 2007, he joined ECL in 1997 and held a number of progressive positions including Regional Vice-President, Ontario/Quebec between February 2005 and September 2007. Mr. Martin has been involved in various aspects of the real estate industry for approximately 25 years.

 

 

Scott R. MacLean
Senior Vice-President of Operations, Atlantic Region

From 1993 to March 2006, Mr. MacLean was Vice President Operations for ECL. Prior to 1993 he held various management positions with Cambridge Shopping Centres. Mr. MacLean has a Bachelor of Commerce from Saint Mary's University.

 

Gary Finkelstein
Regional Vice-President, Ontario and Quebec

Gary Finkelstein joined Crombie REIT on June 16, 2008. Early in his career, he owned and operated a private commercial property management company. Upon being called to the Bar with an LL.B. in 1994, he practiced corporate commercial and real estate law in Toronto. In 1999 he joined Canadian Tire Real Estate Limited and held a number of progressive positions with that company until 2003 when he joined Knightstone Capital Management Inc., a small start-up private development company, as Vice-President overseeing all acquisitions, development, operations, management and leasing.
